Welcome, We Are So Excited for You!

Congratulations on recommitting to you! We applaud you for taking the steps to improve your health and reach your weight loss goal. Starting this journey can feel overwhelming, and that's completely normal. Don't worry, that's exactly where we come in! We are here to make this first week as uncomplicated as possible and to support you every step of the way.

You've made a powerful decision. And even on the days when it feels hard, remember this: you already did the hardest part. You started.

What's Happening in Your Body Right Now

On your very first day of the ShiftSetGo program, your body is beginning a remarkable transition. Right now, your body runs on glucose, the sugar it gets from carbohydrates. Over the next 4 to 5 days, as you follow your Stage 1 sheet and keep carbohydrates very low, your body will burn through its stored glucose (called glycogen) that lives in your muscles and liver.

Here's what that means for you this week:

  • You may feel a little tired or foggy in days 1-3. This is your body adjusting to its new fuel source. It's completely temporary and a sign that your body is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
  • You may urinate more frequently. Glycogen holds onto water, about 3 grams of water per gram of glycogen. As your body burns through those glycogen stores, it releases that water. This is normal and a sign that things are working!
  • You may feel hungrier than usual in the first day or two. Once ketosis kicks in (typically days 3-5), your hunger will naturally begin to reduce. Hang in there.
  • You might notice a light headache. This is usually related to electrolyte and fluid shifts. Drinking your water and following your meal plan are the best ways to minimize this.

None of this is cause for alarm. Your body is transitioning from a sugar-burning machine to a fat-burning machine, and that transition is the foundation of everything.

Tips to Help You Start Successfully

  1. Lean on us.
If you are confused or have a question, ask your coach for help. You are never bothering us, this is exactly why we're here. The more we communicate, the better your results will be.
  2. Make yourself available when your coach calls you.
We will be calling you on your first day of the protocol. If you have any questions between now and then, please call, email, text, or message us! Early check-ins help us catch any questions before they become roadblocks.
  3. Join our private Facebook support group.
Request to join for tips, recipes, suggestions, and motivation! There's an incredible community of people on the same journey who genuinely want to see you succeed. Accountability and community are proven to improve long-term weight loss outcomes.
  4. Never leave home without an extra Ready To Go Drink.
Use the 6-pack of your freebie drinks, you can have 2 extra Shift Meals per day this week. Life happens: meetings run long, errands pile up, and suddenly dinner is hours away. A Ready To Go Drink in your bag means you'll never be caught without an on-plan option.
  5. Eat EVERYTHING that your Stage 1 sheet tells you.
Nothing more, nothing less. This may feel like a lot of food at first, or not enough. Trust the plan. Every element of your Stage 1 sheet is designed to get your body into ketosis as quickly and comfortably as possible. Skipping meals can actually slow your progress.
  6. Take a photo of your Stage 1 sheet with your phone.
Wherever you go, your Stage 1 sheet is with you. Laminate it. Post it on the fridge. Make it visible so it becomes your anchor.
  7. Know that Stage 1 is temporary.
Stage 1 is the most structured phase of the program, and it won't last forever. Clients who stay the course in Stage 1 consistently see the most dramatic early results. Think of it as the runway before takeoff.
  8. Stay off your scale!
This one is important. In the first week, your body is releasing water weight and your numbers can swing dramatically day to day. A 3-pound jump overnight from something as simple as a salty dinner can feel devastating, but it has nothing to do with fat loss. Our scale at the office measures not just weight but body composition, so we can show you exactly what's fat vs. water vs. lean mass. Trust our scale, not yours.
📅

What to Expect This Week

DayWhat You Might FeelWhat's Happening
Days 1-2Hungry, possibly tired or foggyYour body is burning through stored glycogen. Fat burning has not started yet.
Days 3-4Hunger begins to ease, cravings reduceFree fatty acids are being used for fuel. Your body starts converting protein into glucose (gluconeogenesis) to power your brain.
Days 5-7More energy, feeling clearer and lighterKetosis has fully started. Your liver is producing ketone bodies. Take your BCAA supplement daily to protect muscle.
Day 7+Steady energy, hunger well managedYou are fully in ketosis. Protein breakdown has slowed. Stay on plan and nothing will stop your progress.

Setting Yourself Up for Success

  • Clear your kitchen of high-carb temptations, if it's not in the house, you won't eat it.
  • Prep your Shift Meals in advance so you always have something ready when hunger hits.
  • Stock up on your protein sources from your approved list so you never scramble for dinner.
  • Have sparkling water or herbal tea on hand when you want something other than plain water.
  • Tell one supportive person what you're doing. Social support is one of the strongest predictors of long-term success.
